An Audiology Center You Can Trust
In October 2013, Pinnacle Hearing opened its first location in Little Rock led by Dr. Mary Chatelain. In January 2014, a second location was opened in Camden. Pinnacle Hearing was founded on biblical principles and grassroots efforts. We serve the community with their hearing health and beyond.
The name Pinnacle Hearing has been derived from both the local icon Pinnacle Mountain and the medical term Pinna.
Located 5 miles West of Little Rock, the 1,011 ft Pinnacle Mountain has become a local icon. Its conical shape and towering presence is clearly visible from much of Little Rock, making it an easily recognizable geographic feature. In concert with this is the word Pinna which is a medical term for the anatomy of the outer ear. This is the first of many steps in hearing because it funnels sounds to the middle ear system.

Hearing Aids
Hearing aids are battery-powered electronic devices designed to improve hearing. Hearing aids come in many different styles and sizes and also vary in technology and connectivity.
Pinnacle Hearing is an authorized provider of the following hearing aid brands: Oticon, Resound, Widex, Signia (formerly Siemens), Phonak and Starkey.
Hearing Test
Hearing tests are designed to provide an evaluation of a person’s sense of hearing. This test is most often performed by an audiologist using an audiometer. An audiometer can determine a person’s hearing sensitivity at various frequencies. Aside from using an audiometer, there are also other hearing tests available, such as the Weber test and the Rinne test.
Tinnitus
Tinnitus is often described as “ringing in the ears,” a phenomenon that is used to describe hearing sounds that are not externally present. In most cases, tinnitus is caused by an underlying condition, such as a problem with the circulatory system, age-related hearing loss, or an ear injury. Determining the root cause of tinnitus is essential in creating the correct treatment plan.
Ear Wax Removal
When it comes to earwax removal, using cotton swabs, ear candles, or other pointed objects is highly discouraged. Why? It could push the earwax deeper into the ear canal, making it more difficult to remove. Pinnacle Hearing offers safe and professional earwax removal services performed by audiologists who know the ins and outs of the ear.
Redux Hearing Aid Drying System
Moisture is one of the biggest enemies of hearing aids. Did you know that moisture is the most common reason for hearing aid malfunction? Redux Hearing Aid Drying System comes to the rescue by offering professional solutions to removing harmful moisture in hearing aids. Redux Hearing Aid Drying System is available at Pinnacle Hearing.
Hunters are more likely to develop hearing loss, specifically high-frequency permanent hearing loss. Individuals with high-frequency hearing loss report that they can hear but not clearly. People are sometimes perplexed about which professional to visit since the distinctions between audiologists and hearing aid specialists are so minor. There are, however, some significant contrasts between what these two professions can achieve for you. A hearing aid professional will conduct a hearing test and equip you with a hearing aid. Audiologists can evaluate and diagnose a broader spectrum of hearing and balance issues. Audiologists are more knowledgeable than hearing aid experts, and your doctor may send you to one to learn more about your particular situation.
To work as a hearing aid dispenser, you must be qualified, seek for a license, and have substantial experience with hearing aids. Before obtaining national certification and a state license, a supervised externship is necessary. Feedback is the whistling sound that can be heard from the hearing device. Feedback occurs when the amplified sound comes out of the ear mold and re-enters the microphone. A properly-fitted hearing aid will sit securely in the ear and will not produce feedback.
If you experience feedback, it may mean that the earmold is too small or there might be too much earwax in the ear canal. Schedule a consultation with an audiologist for hearing aid adjustments or earwax removal.
